Oh lots of great vocal in Moldova so far

ESCKAZ. COM rocking the Moldovan rehearsals

Philipp Kirkorov has just arrived to Moldova to support DoReDoS at the national final.

Добро пожаловать в Молдову, наш дорогой друг, Филипп Киркоров! Filip Kirkorov în Moldova.

Some of you that are FB friends with ESCKAZ.com correspondent Michael will know that he has, along with Daniel, headed over to Moldova for their National Final this weekend.
Last night they went to dinner with former Moldovan entrant Cristina Scarlat-Girla for some traditional Moldovan food;

"It was great seeing Cristina again, and her PR agent Lidia. We had so much fun with them in Amsterdam and Copenhagen - and the chance to simply have some traditional Moldovan food with them was not to be missed. The girls know everyone here - greeted at the restaurant like old friends by the staff - and taking over the ordering so that we could try many different thing. We have not really any idea what the dishes were called but the traditional soup Moldovan Zeama was great to try....we expected a borscht style soup, but this was very different and really good. The traditional pancake style pie, with cheese and cabbage were also worth checking out
With the girls we talked about all sorts of subjects and got slightly drunk on Moldovan Mulled Wine!
Such fun to simply spend an evening with someone who has been on the Eurovision stage - AND NO she did not try to pull her hair out at any point :-)"

Feel free to check out one of Mike's favourite interviews he ever did, from Amsterdam in 2013, when about halfway through it just turns in to fits of giggles and comedy....

With love to Cristina

Later today Mike and Daniel will attend the rehearsals for this years Moldovan National Final and maybe bring some sneak peeks for tomorrow night's show...

The last semi final for the Romanian selection process, Selecția Națională 2018 will take place this Sunday from Sighisoara city, the last step before the Big Final

The Eurovision Romania series of semi-finals will close on Sunday, February 18th in Sighişoara, with a new show.

The show hall „Mihai Eminescu” from Sighişoara, the host of this event, will turn into a special space in which the history and the modern technical equipment will blend in order to host this year’s last Eurovision Romania semi-final.
The stage will be covered by a show of lights and graphics with 100 square metres of LED screens and 380 square metres of LED curtains installed by the organisers.

Following the premiere of the last show, when the contest took place at 90 metres deep, in Salina Turda, this Sunday we will assist again at a new premiere – the competitors will perform on a stage, where almost 90 years ago, George Enescu was performing an unforgettable concert.

In a scenery loaded with the history of the medieval fort, the competitors who will perform will be: SAVE („All We Need”), Tomher Cohen („Baby You’re The Only One”), Sergiu Bolota („Every Little Thing”), Dora Gaitanovici („Fără Tine – Without you”), Teodora Dinu („Fly”), The HUMANS („Goodbye”), Iliana („I Won’t Lie”), Evermorph („Live Your Life”), Alexandru Ungureanu („Sail With Me”), Manuel Chivari („Somebody To Love”), Maria Suciu („Sweet Nothing”) and Denisa Trofin („Tears”) – the songs are available on the dedicated site: http://eurovision.tvr.ro.

Because we are in Sighişoara, the show will be opened by Terra Medies Order of Paladins, knights and princesses of the fort who will recreate the medieval atmosphere on the Eurovision Romania stage.

Direcţia 5 performs an extraordinary show for the Sighişoara semi-final.

During the last show of the semi-final, Marian Ionescu, who is also the founder of Directia 5 band, will play a double role. The artist will judge the songs from the contest and then he will perform an extraordinary show together with Directia 5. Directia 5 will interpret on the stage located in the Fort Market, several songs loved by the public, such as: „Dacă ai şti – If only you knew”, „Povestea noastra -Our story”, „Si ce daca -So what”, „Tot ce vrei- All you want” or „O fată ca ea-That kind of girl”. Alina Crişan, special guest within this performance, will sing with the band several songs which wrote history in the Romanian music.
The performance will take place in the moment when the jury will withdraw in order to decide the winners of this semi-final.

The show will be hosted by Diana Dumitrescu and Cezar Ouatu. Simona Boantă, a TVR Targu Mureş journalist, who will assist the competitors in the Green Room and will witness their emotions.
On Sunday, we will find out who are the 15 finalists of the National Selection.

The Eurovision semi-final from Salina Turda, at 90 metres beneath the earth – an absolute premiere in the history of the contest

• Elena Gheorghe and Ad Libitum Voices are performing the shows of the Eurovision semi-final from Salina Turda
• The show is broadcasted live on TVR 1, TVR HD, TVRi, TVR Moldova and on TVR+, on Sunday, February 11th, starting from 21.00 hrs.
• On Saturday, starting from 22 hrs, on TVR 1 channel, we enter „The Eurovision Backstage 2018”

Romanian Television will have a premiere in the history of the Eurovision international contest. This Sunday, the semi-final will take place in Salina Turda, at 90 metres deep.

The artists will climb the stage located in Rudolf salt mine, in a natural and glamorous scenery, which measures no less than 50 metres wide and 80 metres in long.

The logistic effort for the organisers, to place 20 tonnes of technical equipment in the underground, has been indeed a huge one. There are 13 km of electric cables, optic fibre, triax and communication elements which have a route of 500 de meters.
7 days took the organisers to lower the scenery and the technical elements in the salt mine through an old extraction well.
The first rehearsals will take place on Saturday.

In order to make the show in these special conditions from Salina Turda, the Eurovision team counts on a lights show created with 70 intelligent mobile heads and 70 conventional projectors, a sound system, with perimeter speakers and also 30 square metres of LED screens.

Elena Gheorghe and Ad Libitum Voices are having the performances of the Eurovision semi-final in Salina Turda.
Elena Gheorghe, has represented Romania at the 2009 edition of the international contest and comes back on the Eurovision stage with an extraordinary concert, specially made for the show on Sunday.
Elena has prepared a unique audio-visual experience, in an extended stage formula, with re-orchestrated songs, with five spectacular outfits and hits which have already become evergreens
Some of the songs will be: „Mamma Mia”, „Echo”, „The Balkan Girls” – the song which has represented Romania at Eurovision 2009 -, „Disco Romancing”, „I adore you”, „Till morning”, „Midnight Sun”. Alongside a surprising collage, Elena will perform all these wonderful songs on the specially arranged stage and located in the Rudolf salt mine.
„I have never sung in salt mine before, it is a new experience for me and I want to send all the emotion and the joy of the show to the ones who will watch us. All the songs I have prepared have been re-orchestrated; the choreographies have been rethought and readapted to this unique show.” has declared Elena Gheorghe about her performance from Eurovision Romania.

One of the few vocal bands in Romania who adopts the pop-opera style, Ad Libitum Voices, will perform on Sunday, in the impressive scenery from Salina Turda, a series of hits in a specific note. Tiberius Simu, Sergiu Coltan – tenors, Vlad Morar – bariton and Cristian Ignuţa – bass, will open the show together with the young interpreter Katia Cărbune, with the song „My heart is breathing you”. The band’s performance will continue with hits such as: „Caruso” (Lucio Dalla), „The tree” (Aurelian Andreescu) and „The wedding” (Phoenix).
„It is a real honour for us to be present on the Eurovision stage, a stage where numerous artists have met their success and fame. A very pleasant surprise was also the collaboration with Katia Cărbune, an extremely skilled little girl that we love to work with”, have the members of the band declared, before the rehearsal.

The viewers will find out on Sunday, February 11th, live on TVR 1, TVR HD, TVRi, TVR Moldova and on TVR+, starting from 21.00 hrs, the three winners of the semi-final from Salina Turda. The show will be hosted by Diana Dumitrescu and Cezar Ouatu. The two artists will be supported from the Green Room by Loredana Corchiş, a producer of TVR Cluj regional studio.
