Eugent Bushpepa, the representative of Albania, has filmed his Eurovision postcard in the city of Aveiro.

Known as the "Portuguese Venice", Aveiro is considered one of the most charming cities in the country. The city is known for its colorful moliceiros (typical boats that circulate in the Ria de Aveiro and were originally used to harvest the moliço), the buildings of the Art Nouveau style and a quiet urban atmosphere. In this postcard, Eugent Bushpepa began a unique trip by the Ria of Aveiro aboard a moliceiro. During this tour, the singer toured the houses of the fishermen, the fish warehouses, the salt flats of Aveiro and the historical buildings of the city, appreciating the daily life of its inhabitants.

After the shooting, the artist commented on this experience: "Aveiro is a very warm and friendly city. I was amazed by the colors, the architecture, the nature and the combination of all these elements. I was inspired with such simplicity and diversity! "

Vanja Radovanović and "Inje" (Hoarfrost) will represent Montenegro at Eurovision 2018 after prevailing over fields of five finalists and three super-finalists on Saturday.

The winning singer has said in the past that this song is more serious than the ones that he normally writes. It's about someone with unrequited love and how that experience gives them strength and power. The lyrics and the delivery of them clearly connected with the televoters, who comprised 100% of the voting results during this jury-less show.

Katarina Bogićević had a great vocal performance with "Neželjena" (The unwanted) and came in second while Lorena Janković and "Dušu mi daj" (Give me soul) was third; she was arguably the most emotive of the performers on the evening. Failing to get past the finalist stage were Nina Petković with "Dišem" (I breathe) and Ivana Popović Martinović with "Poljupci" (Kisses).

The presentation of the songs in both stages was reminiscent of Eurovision itself in that it was one right after the other with a short video postcard inbetween. The live performances of the five finalists were completed 35 minutes into the show. With two televoting rounds and three more performances to follow, the entire show lasted two hours.

Slavko Kalezić (Eurovision 2017) and Knez (Eurovision 2015) performed impressively as interval acts. But, on social media, it appeared that violin medleys of Eurovision hits were the highlights of the night interval-wise.

Albania's Eurovision 2018 representative, Eugent Bushpepa, was scheduled to perform as an interval act as well, but that was cancelled earlier in the week for undisclosed reasons.

Right before the winner was announced, an entertaining spoof that showed Montenegro winning Eurovision 2018 and hosting Eurovision 2019 was shown.

Once Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro accepted the invitation to represent Italy at Eurovision 2018 in the early morning hours of Feb. 11 after winning the Sanremo Music Festival, an interesting thing resulted. We now have three Albanian-born lead singers at this year's Eurovision.

Meta was born in Fier, a city of 85,000 that is located 70 miles south of the nation's capital, Tirana. He lived there until he was 13 when he and his family crossed the Adriatic Sea and settled in Bari, Italy. The singer, as part of the group La Fame, participated in the Sanremo 2010 Newcomers' section. After leaving that band and going solo, he returned to the Sanremo Newcomers' section in 2016. His debut in the Big Artists section came a year later, and he finishing third before he and Moro teamed up for their Sanremo win in 2018. They will sing, "Non mi avete fatto niente," in Lisbon.

The second Albanian-born singer at Eurovision 2018, Eleni Foureira, was internally selected by Cyprus on Feb. 1. Like Meta, she was born in Fier. Foureira and her family, however, headed in a different direction, south to Athens, Greece, a move that occurred when she was 9 or 10 due to the breakout of the Albanian Civil War in 1997. After unsuccessfully attempting to represent Greece at Eurovision a number of times, she will fly the flag of Cyprus in Lisbon, singing, "Fuego," there.

The first Eurovision 2018 performer from Albania was that country's representative: Eugent Bushpepa. He was born in Rrëshen, which is a town of 9,000 situated 45 miles north of Tirana. Although he spent some time in Italy, he returned to his native country after a few years and started becoming a force on the music scene in Albania. He previously sang at Festivali i Kenges in 2008, performing with Rovena Dilo and placing 12th, before making a spectacular return in 2018, winning with his entry, "Mall."

This interesting confluence of Albanian-born artists at Eurovision 2018 brings up an interesting question. Have three countries been represented at the same Eurovision in the past? When? Who?

It's relatively easy to come up with countries who were represented by a pair of acts. Two examples that quickly pop into mind from Eurovision 2017 were Australia (Australia's Isaiah and Denmark's Anja) and Romania (Romania's Ilinca and Alex Florea and Switzerland's Miruna Mănescu and Emanuel Daniel Andriescu). But thinking of a country that was represented by three acts at a single Eurovision is considerably harder to recall.

So that’s it, we Italians will try with a duet this year at ESC: Fabrizio Moro from Rome and Ermal Meta (Albanian, naturalized Italian), both artists with a lot of experience in songwriting and performing.  Song is good, lyrics are strong…we won’t win but surely make a good impression!

The multilingual lyrics video looks perfect for Europe (and beyond).
