Buranovskie Babushki will represent Russia in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Baku. Buranovskie Babushki will sing the song Party For Everybody in the first semi-final on 22nd May.
RTR the Russian national broadcaster organised the national final which featured twenty-five acts. In the end Buranovskie Babushki won the right to represent Russia in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Buranovskie Babushki first appeared on a stage in the 2010 Russian national selection of Eurovision’s song competition in 2010. In Baku they will compete with the song Party For Everybody.
The Russian representative was decided through jury voting and tele-voting. One of the jury members was Philipp Kirkorov who represented Russia in 1995. The show hosted by Olga Shelest and Vladimir Zelenskiy took place in the Akademicheskiy Concert Hall in Moscow. The 2008 Eurovision runner-up Ani Lorak was a guest in the show as she performed the song Shady Lady.
