Despite earlier rumors that confirmed its presence in Baku, Slovakia will not be represented in Eurovision 2012. The director of entertainment, Andrej Miklánek, said such a low budget cannot compete in the next edition of the festival. Currently, the station’s goal is to invest in national productions.
Since last year, the Slovak radio station has gone through serious financial problems, which led to almost give up Eurovision. Slovakia was able to participate in Eurovision 2011 after a deal with the TWiiNS. They failed to reach the final, getting the 13th place with the song “I’m still alive.”
